Our Attorneys

Joseph D. Rutala, Esq.

Joseph D. Rutala, Esq. concentrates on business and business entity related law and litigation. Originally a native of Southern New Jersey, he attended Drexel University where he studied business administration with concentrations in international business and economics and marketing. He graduated from Drexel magna cum laude. Thereafter, he attended Rutgers University School of Law-Camden, where he focused in antitrust law.

Immediately after law school, Joe became an Assistant Prosecutor for the State of New Jersey in the Salem County Prosecutor’s Office. There he immediately began litigating jury trials in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division and doing appellate work before the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division. Eventually, Joe decided to move out of prosecution and in to private litigation. He has practice a variety of areas of law including civil rights litigation; personal injury; malpractice; contract/commercial litigation; contract/transactional drafting; the sales and acquisitions of businesses; renegotiation of commercial debts; family law; defamation; real estate transactions; and criminal law.

Joe founded the Rutala Law Group to create a client-centric firm that focused on dealing with its client’s business-legal needs.

Matan Shmuel, Esq.

Matan Shmuel is the founder and managing member of Shmuel Law Group, LLC. Matan focuses his practice on advising and counselling businesses and entrepreneurs in all enterprise-related matters, as well as advising individuals and family business owners in personal tax and estate planning matters.

Matan counsels businesses with startup and operational issues; drafts, reviews, and advises on all manner of contracts; and helps businesses and entrepreneurs deal with tax issues relating to their growth and expansion.

Matan counsels individuals and families with estate planning, personal income tax, and business succession issues.
Matan holds a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law and an L.L.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. Matan has taught courses at Rutgers School of Law, Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, and Georgetown University Law Center. Matan also serves on advisory boards and steering committees of several area nonprofit organizations.
